
This Friday night-Saturday course focuses on the historical timeline of biblical events, the development of the canon, and the challenges of interpretation. The use of commentaries and study Bibles is discussed as well as responsible use of the scripture in preaching and teaching. The class is prerequisite for those entering the Certificate of Pastoral Ministry program, but other laity are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Instructor: Rev. Fran Schnarre is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and is the Director of Educational Ministries at MSR Center for Rural Ministry. She is also part-time pastor of Granville Christian Church near Paris, MO. Fran lives with her husband, Brian, on a farm near Centralia, MO. They are the parents of four grown children and have three grandchildren.
