Introduction to Christian Thought

An overview of the history and development of Christian theology including an introduction to the basic systems or schools of theological thought.  The contributions of the major personalities in the history of theological development will be surveyed.

Instructor:  Bob Flanagan, an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), teaches in the area of religion and culture in the Religious Studies Department at the University of Missouri - Columbia, and is pastor of the Sturgeon Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Sturgeon, Missouri.  Both of these professional roles relate closely to Dr. Flanagan?s vocation as a pastoral theologian or, in other words, as someone who thinks constructively about the Christian faith tradition primarily from the perspective of pastoral work.  Bob and his wife, Mary, were raised in Kirksville, Missouri, and have lived on ten wonderfully productive acres south of Columbia for over thirty years.
