Welcome!

Missouri School of Religion offers a variety of ministry educational opportunities.  All events and courses are open to all people, including lay persons, licensed, commissioned and ordained pastors.  You do not have to be employed in ministry to participate.

Certificate of Pastoral Ministry (CPM):  a program of ministry training designed for persons seeking to serve as licensed/lay/commissioned pastors, but open to all persons wishing to enroll.  Participants may enroll in a single course or in the entire program of study.

  • Rotation of 18 undergraduate-level courses
  • 480 contact hours of instruction (or equivalent on-line instruction)
  • Taught by experienced pastors with graduate seminary degrees
  • All courses are offered exclusively online

Please note:  The Missouri School of Religion is not a licensing agency for ministry, nor does completion of a Certificate of Pastoral Ministry guarantee a call or assignment.  Lay ministry is licensed or commissioned through the individual's denominational judicatory (region, presbytery, conference, etc.)

Continuing Education:  These continuing education events are available in a wide variety of topics and are open to anyone interested.  Locations vary depending on the area of interest.

Parish/Faith Community Nurse Basic Preparation:  This is an annual course (usually held in October) and is the basic preparation course in becoming a Parish/Faith Community Nurse.  The course is available for Nursing CEU's and the sites rotate to various regions of the state.
